Bolivian Air Force Gets DC-10-10F from Cielos Airlines of Miami, Florida

The Fuerza Aereo Boliviana (FAB-Bolivian Air Force) received a DC-10-10F, c/n 46903, Line No. 043 Peruvian registration CP-2489, formally ex-U.S. registration N68044. In our interview at his Miami office with our friend and business colleague Mr. Johnny Millon, Sr VP of Operations at Alliance Management Center "AMC" the partner owners of both Cielos de Peru and Centurion Air Cargo, Johnny shared with me a little bit of back ground on the FAB newly added aircraft. The aircraft was originally delivered to Continental Airlines back on 9th June 1972. Being a -10F this model does not have the center landing gear indicating that its cargo load capability is far less than the -30F or -40F models. Johnny mentioned that this was the "odd ball" plane of the fleet and having it removed from their operational certificate was not an impact to AMC operations. The DC-10-10F has joined Transportes Aereos Bolivianos (TAB), the military airline controlled by the FAB's Brigada Aerea 1 / Grupo Aereo de Transportes 71. This represents the largest aircraft ever to serve with the FAB.
