With our continued relationship with the Chilean Air Force (FACh), we have been advised of the following from Santiago. Two used Airbus A310 aircraft are to be acquired by the (FACh) through an US$104 million dollar deal with EADS as part of a re-equipment plan, which was officially announced back on 6th August 2007.
One aircraft shall become the new Presidential transport, thus replacing the current active service Boeing 737-500, which has a limited range for international travel. The other aircraft will be converted by EADS to a multi-role tanker transport aircraft configuration. First delivery to the (FACh) is anticipated in mid-November 2007. We have requested for the (FACh) to provide us with the aircraft serial numbers so as to trace their commercial operational history on these two aircraft.
